Text Box: This year, the Village Creek Neighborhood Association helped to celebrate the 25th annual National Night Out on October 7, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. One of the things that made this special is that the date had been changed from August to October, in hopes of cooler weather. And it worked! The weather was pleasant, though a little windy. The one minor inconvenience was that it got dark before we finished up and was almost a bit chilly, but nobody really seemed to mind that very much.

Text Box: We went through about 110-120 hot dogs, so we can estimate we probably served about 70-80 of our neighbors. Everyone who attended seemed to linger and mingle and talk more than previous years. We attribute this to the more "comfortable" weather, for a change. Several areas of comment and concern were brought up and these will be addressed in the coming year during the monthly meetings.

Text Box: We want to especially thank all those who showed up to help or educate or entertain; The City of Plano people with their games and prizes, the Fire and Police departments, the "PD DJ" with his own sound system and unique style of "reaching out", and our own neighborhood Police Officer, David Waddell. All of them were very welcome and much appreciated.
