Hello
all!!
Just
a quick note to remind you to watch your "stuff" much more closely
between now and Christmas, because thefts and burglaries tend to increase
significantly during this season. For most of us, we think of this as "X
number of shopping days til Christmas." But police officers have
dubbed it "X number of shoplifting days til
Christmas" due to the dramatic increase in offenses involving
stealing! Thefts of everything (bicycles, Christmas decorations, cars,
purses,--ok, anything not nailed down), burglary of vehicles, burglary of
habitations, and fraud offenses--credit card abuse, theft of mail, etc.
Also,
you may want to mark your outside Christmas decorations with a Sharpie or
other permanent marker with your TX Drivers License number with TX DL on both
ends of the number. It will look like this: TX12345678DL. Most of
the time, items are stolen and dumped somewhere else in the neighborhood.
So if the items are recovered, they can be released back to you.
Otherwise, we collect them in our property section and they rarely are claimed
by the owners.
