News Announcement: Park Board Considering Renaming Shawnee Park

A proposal has been presented to the Plano Park Board to rename Shawnee Park as Margaret Ketron Moore Park to honor of the family that donated some of the land to the city. The Village Creek Neighborhood Association, representing the residents living adjacent to the park, is not in favor of this proposal but supports naming other areas of the park (the entry road, pond, pavilion, playground, etc.) for this Plano family. The Park Board has asked for input from Plano citizens concerning this proposal.

We would like your input. Please give us your input by filling out the following petition. All adult members of your household can sign below. Then fold over, tape or staple it shut, put a stamp on it and drop it in the mail. Or, visit our website at www.village-creek.org and vote.

Una propuesta se ha presentado al tablero del parque de Plano para dar nuevo nombre al Parque Shawnee como parque de Margaret Ketron Moore para dar honor a la familia que donó algo de la tierra a la ciudad. La Asociación Vecindad Village Creek, representando a los residentes que viven adyacente al parque, no está a favor de esta propuesta.
