VILLAGE CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

Minutes of the General Meeting held July 10, 2003

 

 

 

The meeting was called to order by President Craig Jacobs at 7:10 pm. There were 12 members present.  The meeting agenda was approved.  The minutes were read by Secretary/Treasurer Vicki Verinder and approved.  Vicki also presented the Treasurer's report.  The account holds $592.41 and there was no activity during the month. 

 

Letters were discussed that were sent to the neighborhood  about the upcoming PISD bond election and the July 21st  P&Z meeting which includes the re-platting of part of Barron Early Childhood School.

 

Officer Nors told us about tech service problems interfering with the downloading of neighborhood crime stats.  She also answered questions about how to find information on sex offenders in the area and about the use of the Amber Alert in the past as well what raves were (teenage party which can feature drugs like ecstasy.

 

Progress is being made in the following areas: web address signs, business cards w/neighborhood information and a new neighborhood forum on the web site.

 

National Night Out business was discussed including approval of checks for the toys and magnetic strips.

 

Plans for a Dart bench and or shelter were discussed and this will be brought to the attention of the city council.

Also plans for a package or packet of information for new residents of the neighborhood as well as a rolling 5 year plan.

Ideas for Make a Difference Day in mid October included a planting of flowers and/or clean-up of the new houses with some edging and fill dirt needed.

 

The neighborhood general meeting on September 11th will include the election of new officers.

 

The next neighborhood meeting will be on 8/14 at 7:00 pm at City Hall.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm.
