VILLAGE CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

Minutes of the General Meeting held June 8, 2006

The meeting was called to order by President Craig Jacobs at 7:06 pm in the Building Inspection Conference Room, City Hall, Plano, Texas. There were 7 members in attendance including our NPO, Dave Waddell.

The agenda was distributed, discussed and approved.

Minutes of the last meeting had not been prepared so were not read. Vicki Verinder gave the treasury report: the account balance is $605.69 and there was no activity. The treasurer’s report was approved.

The newsletter for National Night Out was discussed. Delivery was planned for the weekend of 7/22 with news articles due by 7/13 and a master sent to Craig by 7/19. We decided to contact Judge Peyton to see if we could use some of his community service people to pass out the newsletter. We expect to have 6 association members available to supervise. We will meet at the Barron parking lot at 10 am on 7/22 to begin the distribution.

Article topics included watering rules (Linda), National Night Out (Craig), neighborhood association introduction (Craig), Parker Road widening (Gene) and small safety tips (Dave).

We then proceeded with National Night Out planning. We will use the same format as last year, holding the event at the Shawnee Park Pavilion. Gene will contact the Santibanez family and arrange to have the bounce house for the event. Vicki Verinder will solicit donations from Sam’s Club and Costco. We plan to serve hot dogs, buns, chips (large bags), cookies, condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish, jalapenos), lemonade (2-3 gallons frozen), water and ice.

Dave then held a discussion about some crime matters in the neighborhood.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:08 pm.
