Minutes of the General Meeting held October 12, 2006

The meeting was called to order by President Craig Jacobs at 7:15 pm in the Building Inspection Conference Room, City Hall, Plano, Texas. There were 6 members in attendance, constituting a quorum.

The agenda was distributed, discussed and approved.

Minutes of the last meeting had not been prepared so were not read. Vicki Verinder gave the treasury report: the account balance is $605.69 and there was no activity. The treasurer’s report was approved.

Annual elections were held and the officers for 2006-2007 elected by acclamation are:

Our National Night Out was discussed. An estimated 70 to 80 people attended.

Sunrise Rotary wants to assist on a project so we will discuss a curb appeal project in January.

Parker Road widening continues slowly. The telephone poles have been relocated. The city web site has the dates for the project as beginning in April, 2007, and completion in July, 2008. The project now includes the Parker Road overpass at US 75 improvements.

A recycling presentation was recommended for an upcoming meeting program.

The renovation of the Kmart store to retail was discussed.

The trash and trees along the southeast jug handle of US 75 and Parker was mentioned and Gene Verinder was assigned to contact the city with a complaint.

We also discussed a neighborhood monument along the new Parker Road median when the widening is completed and we agreed to pursue a block grant for it’s purchase.

John Wilson brought up some crime issues.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:54 pm.
