VILLAGE CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

Minutes of the General Meeting held November 9, 2006

The meeting was called to order by President Craig Jacobs at 7:00 pm in the Building Inspection Conference Room, City Hall, Plano, Texas. There were 8 members in attendance, constituting a quorum.

The agenda was distributed, discussed and approved.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Vicki Verinder gave the treasury report: the account balance is $605.69 and there was no activity. The treasurer’s report was approved.

Old Business:

Parker Road widening is now scheduled to begin April 2007 and last about 1 year. The reconstruction of the US 75 and Parker Road interchange has now been included in this schedule.

New Business:

A proposal to rename Shawnee Park to Margaret Ketron Moore Park has been made to the Park and Recreation Planning Board to honor one of the founding members of the city. After much discussion, the association adopted the following resolution unanimously:

Be it resolved:

We, the members of the Village Creek Neighbors Association, oppose the proposal to rename Shawnee Park but, instead, support the naming of the currently unnamed city street that serves as an entry road into the park or other area or areas in the park (pavilion, pond, playground, athletic fields, etc.) to honor the Moore family.

This resolution will be presented by President Craig Jacobs at the next Park and Recreation Planning Board meeting. A request for assistance from our geographical Council member, Shep Stahl, was approved.

No crime watch report was made.

At the January meeting, a presentation on the city’s recycling program will be presented by a city staff member. We will also have our annual planning session at that meeting and all ideas for projects should be sent to Craig.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:52 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Vicki Verinder, Secretary/Treasurer
