Minutes of the General Meeting held January 11, 2007
The meeting was called to order by President Craig Jacobs at 7:10 pm in the Building Inspection Conference Room, City Hall, Plano, Texas. There were 4 members in attendance, constituting a quorum. The agenda was distributed, discussed and approved.
The reading of the minutes of the last meeting and the treasury report were tabled due to time constraints.
Program:
Glenna Brown from the City of Plano Recycling, Environmental Education and Community Outreach Division gave a visual presentation on the city’s recycling program. Her email is glennab@plano.gov. Keep Plano Beautiful, sponsored by her department, is April 14th this year. The department also has a discovery center at 4110 W. Plano Pkwy. where one can obtain information on adaptive plants and yards. The Live Green in Plano Expo is scheduled for May 5 at the Plano Centre.
Old Business: None.
Committee Reports:
The renaming of Shawnee Park was discussed and plans to make it more visible to the public were brainstormed. The next Park and Recreation Board meeting is February 13th where the second and final vote on the renaming will take place.
New Business: None.
Crime Watch: No report.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:37 pm.
