VILLAGE CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
Minutes of the General Meeting held February 8, 2007
The meeting was called to order by President Craig Jacobs at 7:08 pm in the Building Inspection Conference Room, City Hall, Plano, Texas. There were 7 members in attendance, constituting a quorum. The agenda was distributed, discussed and approved.
The reading of the minutes of the last meeting and the treasury report were read and approved. The tabled minutes from the November meeting were voted off the table, read and approved. The treasury has $605.69.
Old Business: None.
Committee Reports:
Parker Road Widening: TXU says the city will not let them replace the street lights between Ave. N and Ave P since the new ones will be in the new median. Alan Upchurch, city engineer will be looking into it.
Shawnee Park Renaming: The city council will take up the issue of name changes for all city facilities. It is felt that they will approve a motion to have the council in charge of all renaming.
District 1 Roundtable: Oak Park plans were discussed as were east side roads. Wyatt North is scheduled for resurfacing and sidewalk relocation, facilitating street-side mailboxes. A development enclave to include park, multi purpose buildings with street level retail with residential space above are being planned.
New Business: None.
Crime Watch: NPO Dave Waddell reported that the burglars that had been active in the area had been captured in the ally behind Carnival. Other miscellaneous crime matters were also discussed.
Keep Plano Beautiful is 4/14. A motion was made and approved to register our association as participating.
The Sunshine Rotary wants to assist in a project in the neighborhood. James Edwards will coordinate.
The next meeting will be a planning session. All members are encouraged to post their ideas on the VCNA website.
