Minutes of the General Meeting held October 11, 2007
The meeting was called to order by President Gene Verinder at 7:06 pm in the Building Inspection Conference Room, City Hall, Plano, Texas. There were 7 members in attendance.
The agenda reviewed and approved. The minutes of the last meeting were approved and the treasury report was read and approved. The treasury has $605.69.
Old Business: James Edwards discussed the way to go about getting speed cushions on Lilac whether temporary or permanent. Other traffic issues were brought up including the amount of traffic at P and Parker.
New Business:
Projects:
We further discussed having a South Side Tree Trimming project in the spring as many in the neighborhood do not meet city code and some people need help doing the trimming. Will need to survey the area first to find out how many need help.
We also discussed providing beautification landscape for the bus stops along Parker once the paving has been completed. Craig Jacobs was going to look into. Gene Verinder will continue to check on ways to change the neighborhood speed limit to 25 mph.
The status of the neighborhood crime watch and the NPO duties were brought up as well as having some citywide flyers put out by the NPO’s to get more police presence and neighborhood participation.
There was a report by Gene Verinder on the loss of school zone signs around Barron Early Childhood School and whether the school or the city was responsible. A motion was approved to try to get the school zone signs reinstated. Doug Jacobs was asked to review all city board agendas to make us aware of anything concerning our neighborhood.
We will ask police person Mark Dawson to attend and speak at a spring program. The police will probably set up a website in the near future with crime stats.
Gene will call up the school and church in our area to see if we could have meetings nearer to the neighborhood.
The next meeting will be Nov.8th. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25
Respectfully submitted,
Vicki Verinder, Secretary/Treasurer
