VILLAGE CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

Minutes of the General Meeting held March 13th, 2008

The meeting was called to order by President Gene Verinder at 7:10 pm in the Building Inspection Conference Room, City Hall, Plano, Texas. There were 4 members in attendance.

The agenda reviewed and approved. The minutes of the last meeting were approved and the treasury report was read and approved. The treasury has $605.69.

Old Business:

James reported that the District 1 roundtable format was changed from prior years with departments taking limited questions and little feedback.

New Business:

Keep Plano Beautiful annual clean-up on April 5th was discussed and James was going to sign us up for it.

Current projects:

Parker Road widening is in progress. For any traffic problem violations we should contact the police department. The alleys on the Village North side have been closed and trash must be put out front.

South side and north side tree trimming was to be looked into and James was going to get in contact with George Elking about help.

The issue of replacing school zone signs was passed with conditions by the Transportation Advisory Board.

Anything regarding Ave N was tabled.

Future projects:

The Rotary Club was to be approached about any budget for curb appeal. Repainting house numbers on the curbs is doable with some supplies and hopefully the help of community service volunteers and/or Boy Scouts.

Comments:

Other neighborhood package plans are posted on the web site. It was suggested that April’s meeting be used to brainstorm some ideas to prepare a small package of items in the neighborhood to ask the city about. The current neighborhood planning person will be invited in May.

Crime Watch: none given.

National Night out date has been changed in Texas; probably September or October.

Crime stats are on website and website work is going on.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:00

Respectfully submitted,

Vicki Verinder, Secretary/Treasurer
