VILLAGE CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
Minutes of the General Meeting held September 8th, 2010
The meeting was called to order by President Gene Verinder at 7:10 pm, Harrington Library Activities Room, Plano, Texas. There were 9 members in attendance and 2 guests.
The agenda was reviewed and approved with correction. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasury report was read and approved. The treasury has $481.03.
Crime Watch: held general discussion with Officer Pero.
Old Business:
- DART benches – No response from our contact with DART. Removing item.
- National Night Out – October 5th, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Shawnee Park. Various items were assigned during the planning session:
- The pavilion has been rented.
- Doug and Craig will get buns, hot dogs and the stove, etc.
- Vicki and Gene will get lemonade, chips and cookies.
- Victoria will get condiments.
- Doug will prepare a master flyer (1/2 page size, English/Spanish on front/back) and Vicki will make copies. A $60 budget was approved for the flyers.
- Officer Pero will request Judge Peyton’s kids to help distribute the flyers.
- Victoria and Myra will make yard signs and James will help attach them to our existing meeting signs.
- We will all meet at the parking lot at Barron Elementary School on 10/2 at 9:00 am to pass out the flyers, complete the signs and put them out. Doug suggested putting out a sign on one of the pillars of the pavilion.
- Love Where You Live – Monique discussed the ideas growing out of different groups wanting to help spruce up the neighborhood. The first area will be north of Parker Rd. with the south side being done in Spring, 2011. A work day and party will be held 10/16 for the cleanup and a big celebration. The Barron PTA is having a picnic on 9/16 and we are all invited. To find out more about the program, go to
